Minihost connects to a Linux, Bitvise, or Cygwin SSH host and supports shell and sftp commands. During communication between the host and device, your android device screen will lock to insure messages are delivered properly. Knowledge of Linux is required. The following menu items are supported. Search for file: Enter the root folder to be searched. Cygwin hosts allow a drive specifier. Example: "C:\root", or "/c/cygdrive/folder". Enter the name of the file without path information. Example: "meeting-summary.doc". Minihost will send instructions to the sshd process running on your host to find the file in various folders and display them on your device. Optionally a zip file will be created and can be download using the "Get zipped file" menu item. Get file using path: Here you will enter the fully qualified filename including the path. Example: "C:\Users\don\documents\meeting-summary.doc" or "./folder/meeting-summary.doc". Minihost uses sftp to copy the file directly to your Android device. This could take quite some time depending upon the size of the file. Get zipped file: Gets the zipped file created by "Search for file" menu item. Shell Commands: This section allow for you to configure multiple shell commands and send them to the host. Shell scripts may be entered as well. Settings: Minihost Password - REQUIRED each time you invoke Minihost. Choose Configuration - Selects on of four hosts configurations. Configuration Identifier - Identifies selected configuration. Host | IpAddress - Enter your dns hostname or ipaddress here. If your computer is behind a firewall (cable, dsl, etc) you must use a dynamic dns service such as dyn.com, www.noip.com, etc. Hostport - Enter the port you wish to use. Since this application uses ssh, it should be 22 unless it has been changed on the host. Be sure to have your hostport forwarded if behind a firewall. Host User - Enter the name used to log into the host. Host User Password - Enter the password associated with the host user. SSH Server: Choose Bitvise, Linux, or Cygwin depending upon which version of SSH the host is running. Install - will attempt to create findfile.sh or zipfiles.bat on selected host. If finding and zipping a file fails, try putting zipfiles.sh and zipfiles.bat (downloaded from website) in your $HOME/minihost folder manually. Note that under Bitvise zipping requires 7-Zip (http://www.7-zip.org) be installed. Minihost assumes the 64 bit version. If using the 32 bit version, edit zipfiles.bat to reflect the correct folder. View Log: Some debugging information is stored in the log. This displays the log for you. Delete Log: Self-explanatory. Help: Displays this help information. About: Self-indulgent historical facts.
